Our Disclaimers
Our Disclaimers explain what the guides, deadlines and figures on this website are, and where they stop. It is general information for UK limited companies, written without knowing anything about your company. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

What this page covers
Concrete Accounts Ltd, company number 14822426, publishes this page to explain how to treat everything we put out. It applies to every page on this website, the blog posts and guides, any file you download, any calculator or tool we host, and anything we post on social media. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers the information you send us, and our Terms and Conditions, which cover use of the site. Where you have engaged us, your engagement letter leads.
General information only
Everything on this site is written as general information for UK limited companies and the owners who run them. It cannot take account of your turnover, your structure, your VAT position, your CIS history or anything else specific to your company, because none of that is in front of us when we write. A threshold, a deadline or a rule of thumb that fits a builder’s company can be wrong for the salon down the road. If you act on something you read here without speaking to us first, that decision is yours. For an answer tied to your own numbers, engage us properly or ask your own accountant.
Accuracy and currency
Tax rules move, and a published page stays where it is.
Accurate when published
We research what we publish and it is right as far as we know on the day it goes live. Rates, thresholds and filing dates shift after that, so a page written last spring can describe a position that has since moved on.
Tax law changes
UK tax changes at every Budget, and sometimes between them through an Autumn Statement or a statutory instrument. The VAT threshold, corporation tax rates, CIS rules and payroll allowances have all moved in recent years, so figures on older pages can be out of date.
We do not promise updates
We revisit pages when we can, and we make no commitment to update every article we have ever published. Treat anything older than twelve months with care, check the current rate or date against gov.uk, or ask us what applies to your company now.
Check before you act
Before you price a job around a VAT rate, pay a subbie, set a salary or submit anything to HMRC, confirm the current rules with us or another qualified accountant. A figure lifted from a web page is a starting point, never the basis for a filing.
No accountant and client relationship
Reading this site does not make you a client. Nor does downloading a guide, running a calculator, answering the quiz questions, emailing us, messaging us on WhatsApp or having a first conversation about whether we fit. We become your accountant when we have agreed a scope and a fixed monthly fee and you have signed our engagement letter. Until that point we are not acting for you, we are not responsible for decisions you make, and the protections that come with a signed engagement, including any professional indemnity arrangements we hold, apply only to work we have been engaged to do.
External links and third parties
We link out to HMRC, Companies House, gov.uk guidance, software providers and the occasional article worth reading. We do not run those sites and we cannot control what they say or when they change it. A link is there because it was useful at the time, and it is not a recommendation of that organisation, its products or its advice. If you follow a link, the other site’s own terms and privacy rules apply, and any dealings you have with that organisation are between you and them.
Calculators and tools
If we host a calculator or an estimating tool, it gives an indicative figure based on the few things it asks you. It knows nothing about your other income, your dividends, your capital allowances, your VAT scheme or the rest of your tax position, so the real number is usually different. Please do not file a return, agree a price or commit money on the strength of one. When you are a client, we work your actual figures from your actual books and tell you what to put aside.
Liability for site content
This section is about what we publish here. Work we are engaged to do is covered by your engagement letter.
Where you have engaged us, our responsibility for that work is set out in the engagement letter and our Terms and Conditions, and those documents lead. What follows deals only with the material on this website and the things people sometimes do after reading it.
What we do not limit
Nothing on this page limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under UK law. Those protections stay with you whatever else is written here.
What we do limit
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss you suffer by relying on this website alone: tax decided from a blog post, a quote priced off a guide, a deadline read from an old page, a penalty, lost profit or wasted time. Content here is published for general reading, and acting on it without advice is your own decision.
When to engage us
If your situation needs an answer you can rely on, answer a few quick questions, take the free VAT and structure check, and we will put a fixed monthly fee in writing. Once the engagement letter is signed, our duties to you are set out there, we are acting for you, and the advice is given on your own numbers.
Copyright and content
The words, guides and images on this site belong to Concrete Accounts Ltd or are used with permission. You are welcome to read them, quote a short passage and share a link with credit back to us. Copying pages, guides or downloads for commercial use, or republishing them as your own, needs our written permission first. Our Terms and Conditions set out the full position.
Changes to this page
We update this page when the site changes or the law does. Our Disclaimers carry a last reviewed date at the top, and the version shown here is the one that applies. Carrying on using the site after a change means you accept the updated wording.
